Ask us about the SE2050 Initiative!

Ehlert Bryan is thrilled to announce that we have joined the SE2050 initiative! We are committed to reducing the embodied carbon in our projects, with the ultimate goal of eliminating it by the year 2050. We are excited to work with leading architects, contractors, and owners to help make this dream a reality.

The construction industry is responsible for approximately 23% of global CO2 emissions. As building operations have become more sustainable, newfound focus has been placed on the construction of buildings and infrastructure over the last few years. A building’s embodied carbon includes sourcing raw building materials, fabrication of structural and architectural elements, material transportation, and the actual construction on site, all of which require significant energy usage. By specifying more sustainable alternatives to traditional building materials and working in concert with the entire design team to further optimize buildings to minimize structural materials, we can reduce the embodied carbon in our projects.

Ehlert Bryan looks forward to contributing to a low-carbon future for the building construction industry and we are excited to be a part of SE2050!
