Structural Design
Project Approach
Structural Analysis
Technical excellence is a hallmark of our practice. We use the state-of-the-art software packages and analysis methods to achieve efficiencies and designs that would not be otherwise possible. Our analysis modeling is coupled with our practical, common sense approach that allows for highly technical designs to be easily understood and constructible. We also frequently host training seminars for our engineers to stay abreast of the latest analysis methods and construction trends.
BIM and CAD
The majority of our projects are performed in Revit (including BIM 360) by a team with a variety of skills and a background in multiple disciplines. Our team includes both full-time BIM Technicians and our engineers, who are trained and actively working in the models.
Ultimately, BIM is a powerful communication tool, and together, our team efficiently integrates our structural design with modeling and coordination between disciplines. On certain project types, we use additional BIM coordination programs, such as Navisworks, to further improve the communication and detection of issues with the overall project team.
We also perform project work in AutoCAD as we recognize that on some projects CAD is the most practical and efficient means to meet the project goals. In addition to BIM, we gladly maintain our capabilities in CAD to meet the needs of our clients.
Quality Control
As structural engineers, we recognize and take seriously our responsibility to our clients and to the public. Each one of Ehlert Bryan’s projects is led by an experienced project manager under the oversight of a principal. Our method for review is comprehensive to filter out inefficiencies and to maximize accuracy and coordination.
