A 640,000 SF 17-story residential tower
The Project
A 640,000 SF, 17-story building with five stories of parking and 12 stories of apartments. The sixth floor features a pool and courtyard while the 17th floor includes a sky lounge for elevated views of downtown Charlotte.
Structural Features
Steel joists frame the 12-story residential tower while load-bearing light gage wall panels support the formed concrete cantilevered balconies. The concrete podium slab reinforced with stage-stressed post-tensioning (PT) cables not only supports the residential tower, but also features a pool and courtyard.
The garage structure below the podium level consists of PT-reinforced concrete slabs. Concrete shear walls comprise the lateral force-resisting system of the building.
