A new two-level high-end shopping mall in Sarasota, Florida. The wide, gently curving corridors and high ceilings featuring a barrel-vaulted skylight the length of the building, create an airy space attracting customers to the variety of retailers and dining options available.

The Project

A new two-level enclosed regional shopping center in Sarasota, Florida. This high-end retail development features 880,000 SF of space showcasing a variety of retailers, restaurants, and a children’s play area. The gently curving interior corridors, barrel-vaulted ceilings, and courtyard spaces create a welcoming atmosphere attracting customers from all over the area.

Structural Features

The building is steel-framed with a concrete on metal deck over open web steel joists and composite steel beams floor system. In addition to the exposed curved steel framed barrel-vault skylight running the full length of the building, the roof also has several 36–60-foot exposed steel framed circular skylights. The main entrance is highlighted by an enclosed 60-foot-tall glass entry pavilion that has a roof with 17-foot cantilevers
