A new, iconic hotel in downtown National Harbor.
The Project
At the intersection of Waterfront Street and National Plaza, the new hotel is prominent landmark at the entrance of National Harbor. The building consists of 156 guest rooms, on-site dining, fitness, and 1,900 square feet of flexible meeting and office space, with much of the space overlooking the Potomac River. A parking garage is located at the lowest level with access off of National Plaza. A custom steel and glass canopy is featured at the entrance along Waterfront Street.
Structural Features
The primary structural frame consists of thin, flat, post-tensioned concrete slabs supported on a concrete frame. At the amenity areas, structural steel is used to around the operable storefronts and overhangs over the outdoor restaurant space. The canopy along Waterfront street features architecturally exposed structural steel with diagonal V-shaped steel columns and steel beams supporting a glass roof.
