The Project
The facility includes a 113,000 SF hangar for the maintenance of private jets, service center, and industrial spaces at the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport in Savannah, Georgia.
Structural Features
The hangar is comprised of girder trusses spanning across the 157-foot wide hangar at 30′ on-center, which are supported by 50-foot tall steel columns and 22′-6″ deep structural steel trusses. The steel trusses span 230 feet over the 30-foot tall sliding doors for the jets to access the hangar. The service and industrial areas of the facility are framed with tilt-up concrete panels and a roof structure consisting of steel joists and beams.
